PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

This is my inaugural president’s message.  I have large shoes to fill following my mentor, Rose KL7FQQ. The System will be forever in her debt for her many years of devotion and dedication.

 

The System has evolved over the years, as witnessed by me being elected the first OM president. Rest assured the values of our founder, V. Mayree K4ICA, will continue to be honored and promoted as we enter our 60th year. To commemorate our 60th birthday, we will run a Special Event February 7-10, details will be on the website.

 

The System continues to grow at an exponential rate, a testament to our dedicated and welcoming controls. We hear repeatedly that the future of amateur radio is vested in the youth. The System heard the call and has acted with the addition of the Young Hams Division.

Our Awards Committee has revamped all awards listed on the website and appearing in this Voice issue. Some have been eliminated, others have been re-worked to assure their ability to be completed. With this revamp, the System embarks on our most ambitious award—The Super Award. Please visit the website for details.

 

I am blessed to be able to work with so many dedicated members and controls. With your continuing support, our 60th year and 2023 will be spectacular.
